Colin Gibson was a graphic designer born in Belfast in 1948. Gibson worked with the Belfast Telegraph before deciding to become a professional artist at the age of twenty-six. His first solo exhibition was held at the Nelson Bell Gallery in 1968.
Gibson’s work has travelled for exhibitions in Canada, America and Australia and can be easily recognised for his true depiction of Ireland. His paintings are produced ‘en plein air’ which contributes to their natural and realistic atmosphere.
